RemoteRadTech launches remote CT services at Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association Partnership to ensure CT imaging services for Ekalala, MT, patients and the community

[Miami, FL and Ekalaka, MT] – RemoteRadTech, co-founded by Felipe Nirenberg, MD, and Flavio Lanes, MD, MBA, today announced a partnership with Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association, Inc. (DMHA), a public 501(c)3 nonprofit with a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) and rural health clinic in Ekalaka, MT. The collaboration highlights the growing effectiveness of remote technologist services.

DMHA is providing GE's nCommand Lite platform, which enables RemoteRadTechs certified CT technologists to remotely operate DMHA's CT scanner in collaboration with their onsite radiology staff. The remote technologist, working in real-time from the Command Center, manages image acquisition, protocols and quality control, just as if they were physically onsite. DMHA’s onsite technologists will continue to support patients directly, including registration, scheduling, positioning, IV insertion and ensuring readiness for scanning.

DMHA has been experiencing ongoing gaps in CT coverage due to recruitment challenges and geographic limitations. Attracting and retaining CT technologists remains a significant national healthcare challenge, limiting hospitals' ability to provide timely imaging services. RemoteRadTech now provides shift and on-call coverage for emergency room cases where a CT scan is critical in determining the next steps in patient care.

Dr. Lanes, co-founder, says, “RemoteRadTech was launched with a mission to address and solve the critical shortage of radiology technologists.” Dr. Nirenberg reinforces, "Our remote radiology technologists’ services are here to boost productivity for MRI and CT equipment while enhancing patient care—a key step toward transforming healthcare accessibility and efficiency.”

Drs. Nirenberg and Lanes founded the largest teleradiology and remote technologist services company in Latin America. Leveraging their expertise, they’ve created RemoteRadTech as a new, independent U.S. company. Technologists need help as they continue to face demanding work schedules, decreased staffing and overall burnout. These factors impact their ability to ensure an effective and efficient flow of patient care.

“The more scans we can work with our client to complete, the more patients can be scanned and ultimately treated. It's all about creating value for the patient and their need to have access to the scans and patient access they deserve," says Dr. Lanes. Dr. Felipe Nirenberg Dr. Flavio Lanes “RemoteRadTech helps put Dahl Memorial at the forefront of healthcare innovation in rural Montana,” said Darrell Messersmith, CEO of DMHA. “As the first Montana Health Network hospital to implement this solution, we’re proud to lead by example. By hosting visiting leaders from across the region during our go-live, we are not only enhancing services for our patients but also helping shape how other hospitals in Montana can address workforce and access challenges.”
